I am not familiar with those specific cards, nor do I know what
you did while not tearing hair out, but I find it difficult to
believe that 2010.1 would not work with most any ordinary card.
What is your hardware other than the card?
Have you tried running pavucontrol and tinkering with settings
there? If something is set to 0 for output, that can complicate
things.
Have you gone through the trouble-shooting routines found in MCC
when setting up the sound system?
Have you tried disabling pulse audio?
Do you have the gstreamer stuff installed? (draksound should
download and install stuff needed, but it might have hit a glitch
on something.)
Have you gone to Google Groups and used advanced search to search
alt.os.linux.mandriva for error messages encountered or sound
problems in general?
