For some reason IPP did not work on my system but sockets did.  Anyway, 
the printer is now visible to the laptops via wireless and to the 
desktop by cable (no wireless card).  I also found that the email 
function worked (from home).  It is a great printer but photoprinting 
leaves a lot to be desired.  The only driver I could find was the hpcups 
general multifunction driver.
