The network is basically a Buffalo wireless router connected by ethernet to the desktop in the living room via a powerline adapter, plus two laptops and the all-in-one on the wireless side. IPP would not work so I use a socket connection on port 9100. The laptops have no problem using the printer and in addition I tested one of them with a USB connection while messing about with drivers and that is what I hoped to use for the scanner. I don't want to even think about scanning over the network (not particularly useful anyway). Len
