Instead of making life difficult for yourself, install Xmarks on 
your existing firefox & synchronise all your existing bookmarks etc 
with the Xmarks server. Then you can install Xmarks on any firefox 
you use - even on other operating systems - and you'll have all your 
own stuff wherever you are. Very useful for people who want all 
their "home" bookmarks available on laptops while travelling etc.
