Hi all, I don't know what caused it, probably an upgrade from Mandriva's side... since a few days my machine (dual core 3GHZ, 4GB RAM, SATA disks) is really slow and sluggish. Worst happens with the browser (firefox 3.5.7, but also 3.0.16). Google Chrome locks up the entire machine for 3 to 5 seconds when loading. Opera loads faster than chrome, which is unheard of. I have not pinpointed where the problem lies, but especially sites like Feedly (an RSS reader online) and Facebook are killing things. Switching tabs in the browser is tediously slow when switching to or from Facebook or Feedly. Google Reader is even worse, I stay away from that. Is there anyone out there who also runs 2009 and has the same problems? Another something I noticed: I did a reboot to get the latest kernel going (2.6.27.45-server-1mnb). Using that kernel the USB ports nor the cardreader in my machine were recognised. I went back to the older kernel (2.6.27.37-server-1mnb) and USB and cardreader work just fine again. Anyone a clue what could cause that?
