Hi All !

Platform: Mandriva Linux 2010, x64, Free
Hardware: ATI Radeon HD 3850 (+ ATI drivers)

I wanna try 3D desktop effects (either KDE 4 or Compiz), but can't setup it.

1. KDE4 says:

"Compositing is not supported on your system.
Required X extensions (XComposite and XDamage) are not available."

2. Tried to activate Compiz via MCC (but no effects -- i.e. it seems
not to work)

3. Driver is installed:
3.a.
[alexey@localhost ~]$ glxinfo | more
name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: ATI
server glx version string: 1.4
...
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Radeon HD 3850
OpenGL version string: 3.2.9704 Compatibility Profile Context
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.50

3.b. /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Section "Device"
    Identifier "device1"
    VendorName "ATI Technologies Inc"
BoardName "ATI Radeon HD 2000 and later (radeon/fglrx)"
    Driver "fglrx"
    Option "DPMS"
EndSection

Any ideas?
