Summary: Quakeforge sound and control bugs
Product: quakeforge
Version: 0.5.5
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: program
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
The bug that garbles the sound is also in Quake Forge. also, there is a
controls issue in QuakeForge that prevents the keyboard from working, but I
have an idea why that is. In gdb, I get the error "could not load
/usr/lib/games/quakeforge/plugins/console_client.so
So my immediate thought is "Bingo."
I did some research and discovered a few things. Apparently both QuakeForge and
Quake 2 have incompatibilities with gcc 4
I pulled this off message board:
>
> Could not load plugin "/usr/lib/games/quakeforge/plugins/console_client.so".
> Reason: "/usr/lib/games/quakeforge/plugins/console_client.so: undefined symbol:
> Key_Progs_Init".

So I think that in both cases, this is our culprit.
Now personally, I think that quakeforge has no biusiness in PLF, it should be
in contribs.
