mplayer & vlc using libquicktime

Hi there,

mplayer and vlc seem not to be able to this movie with the audio
accurately synced
(http://blip.tv/file/get/ChangeCongress-changecongresslaunch701.mov).

This may be well caused by the old win32 codecs that don't support well
variable frame rates.

Is it possible to compile mplayer and vlc so that uses libquicktime to
deal with QuickTime movies?
