Can you point to any wma file that doesn't play? It plays fine here,
with ffmpeg installed, both in vlc and mplayer.

I placed some files under http://www.chaosmongers.org/tmp and the only
file that doesn't play is "01 Little Lulu.wma", but that's because of
DRM.

It gives this output in mplayer:
