Hi, I have checked a bit. The unofficial Ubuntu package called w64codecs does not contain (as the package description suggests) win64 DLLs for a 64 Bit build of mplayer, but some 64 Bit Realplayer codecs. On Mandriva, they are in the real-codecs plf package. So this will not help in any way to play proprietary Windows Media content.
