I know i'm coming in late and without context to this discussion, but
this seems a very strange sentiment to me.  When you work on free
software, you need to /expect others to make money out of your work/.

Did Linus Torvalds or Alan Cox get any compensation out of MNF1 for
their work on the Linux kernel?  Did Tom Eastep get paid from MNF1's
coffers for inventing Shorewall?

If Mandriva has a problem with this, they need to get out of the free
software industry.  If you think your right to make money out of
software supersedes that of others, you need to choose a proprietary
license.
