Another good one is those free web/email greeting cards. I guess people don't 
stop to think about why someone would go to the trouble to set up a site like 
that and give it all away. The answer of course is that they sell your email 
address to the spammers. I had a widely used alias corrupted that way by a 
well meaning family member and had to discard it. Which left a number of 
people with no way to contact me, as I had moved in the interim. A real pain.
