This kind of reasoning lead us to an insane situation with four 
different configuration files for apache, without reasonable 
documentation explaining why, and with even false documentation 
explaining mod_perl was run in a different proxied server. I'd really 
think we need a large clean-up there.

Backward compatibility has a cost, and I feel it now overweight its 
advantages. Release notes are precisely made for explaining real 
changes, instead of just explaining gnome 2.7 has been updated to gnome 
2.8...
