It could be a lack of driver to support the root FS, which root file system is it?

mondoarchive.log and mondorestore.log files could help you (and the mailing-list members) to check
•  /var/log/mondoarchive.log is on the machine backuped
•  /var/log/mondorestore.log is on the machine restored
