Well, I think using <command> would be the easiest way, but you're right
that it isn't very neat. Nearly all packages have sane defaults via
debconf, but it seems that wvdial doesn't.
If you don't like the looks of all those warnings about wvdial, you can
apt-get via <command> and configure wvdial, but besides that I don't
know a way around this without diving into wvdial. Maybe someone on
morphix-devel can think up something, as most of the
mmaker/distrobuilding talk happens there.
