Hi Alex K, Predrag, et al,

Please reply direct to list. I find it confusing to follow a thread otherwise.

As the host system is _sarge_ - old stable and we are trying to build
sid, I'd recommend trying to build in host etch or newer. For some
reason sarge is trying to use cdebootstrap rather than debootstrap to
build the mainmodule. Debootstrap can create a Debian base system from
scratch, without requiring the availability of dpkg or apt.

See log ( http://build0.cynops.de/lightgui.txt ):-
"/usr/sbin/chroot: cannot run command `/usr/bin/apt-get': No such file
or directory"

However before upgrading is debootstrap installed ?

Hope this helps,
Brendan
