Morphix lite GUI

I have morphix lite running well off the CD (loaded into RAM) with the GUI
and desktop working (but very slowly) on an old Hitachi Vision Book plus
laptop: 133Mhz; 80MB ram; 2MB video 12.1" high addressing STN screen; 256
colors; 800X600 pixels.
After (a reported successful) HD install and reboot there were a number of
errors reported:
SKIPPING  "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libGLcore.a : m_debug_clip.o"
no symbols found.
    similar report for:
 /libGLcore.a : m_debug__norm.o"  no symbols found;
 /libGLcore.a : m_debug__xform." no symbols foundo;
 /libGLcore.a : m_debug_vertex.o" no symbols found
SKIPPING  "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/fonts/libspeedo.a : spencode.o" : no
symbols found
........then finally....
X10- fatal IO error (connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0
requests (0 known processed with 0 events remaining

No GUI opens and I am unable to get a graphic interface with "startx" which
results in the following error message: (this is from the
/var/log/xFree86.0.log file)
(II) loading /usr/x11R6/lib/modules/linux/libfbdevhw.a
(II) module fbdevhw:
(EE) open /dev/fb0 : no such device
(EE) no devices detected
Fatal server error
No screens found.

I'm pretty much a newbie with Linux and if anyone can help I would
appreciate it. I would like to get the window manager/desktop running which
ran when I was working off the CD and RAM memory...it does not run now that
the OS is installed on the HD.
