I would like to clarify the situation regarding the IBM Linux Java SDK and NGPT threading library. The standard IBM Linux Java SDKs - 1.3.0, 1.3.1 and 1.4.0 - are all built to work with the standard Linux threading library. None of these standard Java SDKs will work with the NGPT threading library. IBM is working on a new version of the 1.4.0 Java SDK which is built to work with the NGPT library. This will be a different version from the standard IBM Linux 1.4.0 SDK. Initially, we plan to release the new NGPT version of the Java SDK on the alphaWorks web site, so that users can try out the new version ahead of a full generally available release. We can't commit a date for the alphaWorks release just yet, since this will depend on the code working well enough, but we hope that this will be before the end of this year. Yours, Mike. IBM Java Technology Center.
