Lost patch: multiple waiters for process exit

To the development team,

Back in November, I posted a hack that 'solved' a problem in the kernel
where multiple waiters could pick up the exit status for the same process.
This problem occurred under certain conditions where a threaded process
forks.

In reply, Dave McCracken came up with a real fix, that was also posted to
the mailinglist. However, up 'till now, this fix has not been applied to 
the current kernel patch.

My question is, is this fix still needed or has it been resolved in another
way ?
