A colleague had told me it was, and I glanced at .config and saw that CONFIG_HAVE_OPROFILE was set to 'y'. After _really_ enablling oprofile support in the kernel it appears to be working (and opcontrol isn't trying to a modprobe). -- Grant Edwards grant.b.edwards Yow!
