TI1425 not recognizing any card properly

Dear all,

I got a problem gettig a PCMCIA-Adpater with a TI 1420 to work at all:  

PCMCIA-Adapter-Chipset: TI1425, one slot
Mainboard-Chipset: Via Apollo Pro 133A
AGP: ATI RAGE 128
PCI1(log): 3COM 905-TX-M
PCI2(log): TI1420

This works fine if I use an adapter with a TI1410-bridge (or some other
we got here), cards are detected properly and just work.

With the above mentioned TI1425 I only get socket timeouts and it looks
like the CIS can not be accessed but can not imagine where this is
resulting from. Cardctl status shows two sockets.

I also tried to get it work with 2.4.20 + -ac2 and the latest pcmcia-cs
3.2.4.

If somebody might have a look at this:
