Did you do anything else to get the 3Com card to work, other than
fiddling with config.opts?

The irq_list= parameter is only used for selecting ISA bus interrupts
and should not be used on this platform.  I would expect it to have no
effect?

What part of this is baffling, exactly?  What resources did you expect
to see here?
