Changes in the Toshiba ToPIC95 drivers in 2.5?

Greetings!

I've been trying to get a Cardbus Firewire interface running on my
Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 for several days now with no luck. In
2.4.19, the ToPIC controller interface shows up when I boot. And, some
cards like Ethernets actually work. But, when I insert my Firewire card
(that works in 2.4.19 on my Dell Inspiron), the Firewire interface can't
allocate the 3 non-prefetchable memory areas (2K, 16K, 4K) that it needs
for operation. I've tried both pcmcia-3.2.3 and the kernel pcmcia with
the same results.

BTW, an lspci -bv shows:

02:0b.0 CardBus bridge: Toshiba America Info Systems ToPIC95 (rev 07)
Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001
Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 168, IRQ 11
        Memory at fce01000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
        Bus: primary=02, secondary=04, subordinate=04, sec-latency=0
        I/O window 0: 0000d800-0000d8ff
        I/O window 1: 0000dc00-0000dcff
16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001

02:0b.1 CardBus bridge: Toshiba America Info Systems ToPIC95 (rev 07)
Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001
Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 168, IRQ 11
        Memory at fce02000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
        Bus: primary=02, secondary=05, subordinate=05, sec-latency=0
        I/O window 0: 00000000-00000003
        I/O window 1: 00000000-00000003
16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001

Enter 2.5:

Just for yucks, I thought I'd try 2.5.47. Using the kernel PCMCIA, I
get a completely different picture:

02:0b.0 CardBus bridge: Toshiba America Info Systems ToPIC95 (rev 07)
Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001
Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 168, IRQ 11
        Memory at 20002000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
        Bus: primary=02, secondary=04, subordinate=04, sec-latency=0
        Memory window 0: 20c00000-20fff000 (prefetchable)
        Memory window 1: 21000000-213ff000
        I/O window 0: 00004800-000048ff
        I/O window 1: 00004c00-00004cff
16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001

02:0b.1 CardBus bridge: Toshiba America Info Systems ToPIC95 (rev 07)
Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001
Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 168, IRQ 11
        Memory at 20003000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
        Bus: primary=02, secondary=05, subordinate=05, sec-latency=0
        Memory window 0: 21400000-217ff000 (prefetchable)
        Memory window 1: 21800000-21bff000
        I/O window 0: 00005000-000050ff
        I/O window 1: 00005400-000054ff
16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001

Now, I've got memory windows showing up on the unit and the Firewire
card will install (but the Firewire in 2.5.47 is broken :-( ). So, I'm
interested in back porting the 2.5.47 PCMCIA kernel services to the
2.4.19 kernel. Alternatively, if I can get the 2.4.19 kernel services
to work via some configuration changes, that would be OK too. Anyone on
the list have some suggestions as to where I might look first to try and
address this effort?

TIA,

Mike
