Hello guys, I guess I'll give up my attempts to get Xbox support in the mainline kernel. I sent in patches several times, but I didn't get any response. After mailing with Andrew and Linus, I guess it is best to give up... for now ;-) Yours, -- Ed Schouten <[email protected]> Website: http://g-rave.nl/ ---------------------------- Original Message ---------------------------- Subject: Re: Xbox support From: "Linus Torvalds" <[email protected]> Date: Tue, October 12, 2004 1:42 am To: "Andrew Morton" <[email protected]> Cc: "Ed Schouten" <[email protected]> -------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Mon, 11 Oct 2004, Andrew Morton wrote: > > The legal aspect worries me - I just don't see xbox support as being sufficiently important to warrant the risk/hassle. > > And I let Linus make such decisions anyway ;) I agree with Andrew. If people really start using Xbox-linux a bit more, and it can be loaded without hardware mods or special buggy games, we might revisit the issue, but right now I think adding it to the standard kernel would be little more than an "Up yours!" to MS. Not that I love the people, but I also don't honestly see the point..
