There was some discussion in IRC, too, from which I got the same 
impression. The guy was referring to the old xboxir module, even.

I am sorry. This is still my fault, as I did not do any work on xbox 
stuff in quite a while other than experimenting (quite unsuccesfully) 
with the communicator device. Sorry also for missing the commit with the 
comment in question, I'll correct that when I get home.
