hi there =) i just migrated from windows (2000) to linux (suse 8.2). after all im very satisfied with everything expect for one thing: linux cant manage to turn of the tft (in fact, it doesnt send any signal to it any more, so its black, _but_ it does not turn off the back light). this is really anoying as the computer is running 24h per day. as im a complete linux newbie i really dont know where to start =( im thinking bout closing the panel over night, but am not sure, as it is then bout 2 inches above the cpu (celeron650, cpu usage at night +-15%). how "hot" may a tft screen become? thx for any advice tobi ps: my laptop is a sony vaio pcg-qr10 ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf
