[Printing-user-general] enhancement idea: mark the recent printers on linux printing guide

Hello. In most cases, for mid-lower level printers, I buy new printers,
not the used onces. I guess most other people using Linux do the seems,
at least most people in China do so. They may buy the used CPUs, used
motherboards, used PCI cards and keyboards, but they don't buy used
printers. 

     1. it is diffitult to fix them well as warrty expired
     2. old printers tends to get broken, because it is a machine with
        moving components.
     3. you don't know how many time it has been repaired and you cannot
        feel sure about its performance
     4. the new printers are not expensive

Everytime I browse the printer list I have to try to pick up the
products as new as possible, because resellers don't have old models in
stock. Pretty frequently I pick up some printer with 100% compatibility
and ends up called 20 resellers and told this is an old model they on
longer sell. Now I take the other approach: I ask all the resellers what
they have, then go check linuxprinting.org. Both way are difficult
because all the resellers often have 20 different models for you to look
up in compatibility list.

It is much more helpful to state the date any particular model of
printer being produced. It is also very helpful if whether this model of
printer is stoped being produced by the manufacturer.

How do you think? Just my idea.

It might be even better for Linux Printing Org to list the latest best
compatible printers somewhere (homepage?).
