The term Windows only doesn't necessarily spell disaster.  There are 
often third party drivers for other platforms.  In the case of the 
3010cn, however, Dell's specs indicate that this is device uses 
Host-based (GDI) printing language.

According to Wikipedia "The Graphics Device Interface (GDI, sometimes 
called Graphical Device Interface) is one of the three core 
components or "subsystems", together with the kernel and the user 
(window manager), of Microsoft Windows."

There is a GDI driver on the linuxprinting.org site, but it would 
appear that it would not be workable for this printer.  It is only 
for some Samsung devices.
