[Printing-user-general] guten-print causing havoc (Fedora 5/Epson Stylus Color 880)

I recently installed guten-print from the source code.

When I came to print a photo from GIMP, it started printing out reams of code.
What's worse, even after switching everything off and rebooting, as soon as
CUPS is started, the reams of code start again. There is nothing in the print
queue.

Anyone any ideas?
