But i wasn't out of town.. I went through the doc... And though i must say i was not able to understand everything .... This looks promising... Let me further clarify my problem... I want to use this system on a handheld device that runs a customized linux kernel .... Right now the only command available on its command line is lpr... I have to print a PostScript file on the device... The HDD of the device is 32 Mb out of which the OS + application + database takes up 24-25 Mb leaving only 7-8 Mbs for the printing system... The printers r low end inkjet printers. Drivers of only the required can b installed. Pls consider my silly questions whereever they seem because i m very naive to printing let alone printing on Linux. So 1. Is it possible to fit the above said system within 7-8 Mbs for printing PS files.. 2. Is Ghostscript required at all (if conversion to PCL is required) 3. Any other alternatives if U want to suggest. Also can u point me to some document which will take me through the printing process under linux.... consider that i know nothing about printing...
