Dear Johnstone. Once installed, you go to System Preference > Printers and Scanners, hit the + and select the printer that is connected to your computer via USB. It should auto-populate the Gutenprint driver although you may need to select it manually if it doesn’t. The software installed is a series of printer drivers and not an “Application” in the traditional sense. It appears when you need it in the form of a menu item when adding printers and later as a series of options after hitting File>Print. It wasn’t an issue until Apple migrated me to macOS Big Sur (version 11.2). My guess is that I’m now on a 64-bit operating system, so my old printer driver can’t work. > > However, I understand that GutenPrint supports the DeskJet, at least on macOS versions 10.x.
