gutenprint crashes with signal 6 / bad colorspace

Hello,

I have a huge problem with CPUS/Gutenprint.  I already filed a report: 
https://bugs.gentoo.org/970997.  Should I repeat the contents here?

I don't know if it's related with Gentoo or my personal setup. Perhaps 
somebody has some suggestion where I could look.
