I faced a similar problem on linux. Then I discovered brother had linu= x=20 drivers for everything they make, an they do everything listed on the=20 box so I now have 2 for different uses. An all in one inkjet that does= =20 beautiful color from the op tray an fast for an inkjet B&W from the=20 lower tray (incl duplex) and tabloid from a hand slot feed in the rear= =C2=A0=20 All that with a tabloid scanner with an adf in the lid. And one of the= ir=20 bottom line B&W lasers for a 20 ppm utility printer. That injet is now= =20 about 12 years old. I wouldn't think of buying anything else.=C2=A0 ID= K how=20 long you had the HP but if new I'd return it as defective and go look = at=20 brothers offerings. Nothing else seems to get their attention like a=20 warehouse full of returned printers they can't sell to a popular OS.
