Hi Craig,

Here are a couple more patches.

And it appears that our build system is broken.

When I 'make uninstall', most files remain under the /usr/local 
directory.  But yesterday's commit doesn't seem to be the culprit.

When I back-out that change, I still can't uninstall.  Just thought 
you'd want to know.
