> I'm assuming that DHCP returns an IP address, not a DNS entry. From memory, ISC DHCP server does a DNS query and gives the IP (for all hostnames in the config, except where a name is expected). I dont know about others, but I wouldnt be surprised if a lot handle it that way to avoid having stupid DHCP clients getting confused.
