Gidday all. I am attempting to convert 40+ old P133 and P166 machines to thin clients for a windows 2003 terminal server, and possibly some XDM logins. All the machines will have a cheap realtek 8139 NIC with a PXE boot rom. I have configured BpBatch as a first stage PXE boot loader. I have a debian linux server running DHCP and TFTP for the lan already, and I've downloaded the various PXES files from sourceforge. I've installed pxesconfig and pxes-base (tried both 0.6 and 0.7) but both the RPMs and the tarball version of pxesconfig complain about this -------------------------------------------- suspenders:/usr/src/pxesconfig-0.7# pxesconfig Can't locate Gnome.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0 /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.0 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8.0 /usr/share/perl/5.8.0 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.0/Pxesconfig/PxesconfigGUI.pm line 41. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/pxesconfig line 69. ------------------------------------------- So I'm attempting to use files out of the ISO image. I've burned the CD and it boots beatifully (which gives me hope!) In the dhcp.conf I have attempted to set filename "vmlinuz"; but the PXE boot rom says "Too many packages", so I have to use BpBatch as a first stage boot loader. Also I have sent vmlinuz from BpBatch but I get messages about "could not open kernel image" which makes me suspect I'm sending the wrong file/s My question - what files do I need to send to the client to boot like the CDROM version does? -- C.
