Try a higher value in ramdisk_size=XXX kernel parameter.

Diego et al,
I was about to go hunting in the mailing list archives for information about:
RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0
Freeing initrd memory: 7956k freed
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly.
Mounted devfs on /dev
Freeing unused kernel memory: 172k freed
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel
errors, but apparently it's 'not yet archived'. Archives are an
important support tool, so unless there's a good reason for this, maybe
you could activate it?
Anyway it looks like devfs doesn't work as anticipated, at least not
when the device files/symlinks in /dev don't exist anyway. I've tried
various combinations of root=/dev/rd/0, root=/dev/ramdisk/0, creating symlinks,
etc. but to no avail.
I need to make it work without device files so as the package complies
with Debian policy, and this is the last thing that's holding me up so
I'm hoping it's something obvious/simple that I've missed (like a
symlink in /dev for example). That said, I'll create a device file or
two if I absolutely have to. I only care about PXE booting but it will
want to work for other methods too.
Also, setting CONFIG_DEVFS_DEBUG=y in future kernels would most likely
make problems like this significantly easier to resolve.
Thanks,
Sam
