Im using an Intel Pro 100 NIC in the one I set up. Was the first bootable
card I could scavenge  :)   I guess maybe the module for the realtek's
doesnt like something on the mothboard or in the chipset. Maybe check the
kernel module docs for the 8139 module. There might be something about the
digital systems or the chipset they used.
