You might be better off plugging your canon straight into a windows server, or a linux server. I've tried with a Canon Smartbase MPC190, but the usb printer kernel module does not load at startup. I think this is because it is not recognized by the kernel as a printer. It is a multifunction with scanner/printer/copier.
