You need to build a kernel and modules, then use pxesconfig to load that kernel and modules into an initrd. Pxesconfig looks at /opt/pxes-0.8/stock/arch/i586/kernel/ and /opt/pxes-0.8/stock/arch/i586/modules/lib/modules/2.4.20 for the kernel and modules respectively. I suggest that you compile 2.4.20 (the same version as the stock image) There is a config file that you can copy to .config in your kernel source directory - then make changes from there.
