RE: How to build own kernel ?

I had to compile a custom kernel so that I could turn on a kernel option for
my network cards.

CONFIG_8139TOO=m
CONFIG_8139TOO_PIO=y

Of course this slowed down my kernel fractionally, but not noticeably.

Maybe theres some hardware that 2.4.20 doesn't support that Chapinsky has in
his thin clients....  (like those (lucky) guys needing gigabit NIC support.)
