Hello list :)

I've been looking at ways to get some level of central administration of the
thin clients.
Like in the ways of handling installation of thin client and ways to keep
track of which clients are online.

Please note that I'm using thin clients with the image installed on
harddisk.

When deploying thin clients into a MS network, their old WINS name is
rendered useless. At least to any MS admin tools we use to monitor and
maintain our clients with.

Is there a good solution for this out there ?

I've looked at the homepage of SystemImager, which looks promising. At least
in the area of deploying the clients via network, and pushing out updates.
( www.systemimager.org <http://www.systemimager.org> )

What I'm looking for is some kind of software letting me do deploying of
clients like SystemImager and lets me monitor the clients in some way. Like
how many are online etc.

I see from the ROADMAP of PXES that some kind of central administration is
coming in later releases, but I don't know what functionality this will
bring.

We use CA Unicenter, anyone know if the thin clients could be monitored
there ? Or in any other similar system ?

Any pointers are welcome :)

Regards,

Einar Eliassen
