gnome, bonobo-activation, xterminal and pxes

Hello,
I'm using pxes 0.8 to run gnome sessions.
I would eventually like to implement a network of terminals on the
lan. Before I continue with deployment, there are a number of
questions that must be attended.

I know my users and I know that it is very likely that they will turn
off there pc's without logging out first.

So I tested it. Running a Gnome session and then pulling the plug out
from the terminal running pxes. If I wait, and wait, I can boot pxes
on the terminal again and eventually get a login screen. But the user
remains logged in on the server. If I wait and wait, the users
processes are eventually killed except for bonobo-activation,
gnome-settings, and metacity.
It is not possible for the user to cleanly login again. This is a
major drawback.

I've read something about bonobo-activation using the Xserver to index
processes (or something like that). This doesn't seem to be a problem
with kde sessions.

Perhaps this is not the place to post this but I haven't found
anything else on the net.

Any ideas out there?
Any links of xterminal experiences in a production setup?
