Custom NIC driver and Changing default ramdisk/config?

Hey guys,
2 quick questions:

1) I am looking to install/include 2 custom network
drivers, to include with 2 custom PXES
distributions/images (one for a Broadcom NetXtreme
57xx Gigabit controller, and one for a 3 COM 3C920
(3C905C-TX compatible) controller). How would I go
about doing this? (If someone could post a brief
step-by-step walkthrough that would be MOST helpful -
I'm just a little new to this, and need all the help I
can get :P. I assume step one is obtaining the drivers
from Broadcom and 3 COM, no?)

Would I need to add these drivers to the "modules"
directory? or does that not have anything to do with
it?

2) A kind of related question: I had read on one of
the tutorials/how-to guides
(http://trieste.linux.it/node/14) that I could
include/map any local drives on the client machines by
simply typing the command "mknod
/opt/pxes-1.0.x/stock/dist/dev/hda b 3 0" and then
running pxesconfig. Is this right? Unfortunately this
didn't seem to work for me (after trying to create
entries for CD and floppy drives). Is there anything
else I need to do? Or some special way I need to add
it to/edit the Ramdisk?

Hopefully you guys will be more helpful than the
Thinstation project folks/mailing list :(. Any help
with these two matters would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
