/proc/rtai folder does not exist

Hello all,
I've managed to install 5.0-test1 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0,
using a stock 3.10.32 kernel and the appropriate RTAI patch and the
following parameter changes:
--> Mathfuns support, using newlib 2.2.0-1
--> Eager inlining support
--> 1 CPU (had to disable symmetric multi-processing in the kernel
to get it to compile and boot successfully)
--> Disabled COMEDI support
I then attempted to run /usr/realtime/kern/latency/run, but received
a warning of "Error opening /proc/rtai/latency-calibrate (new line)
Couldn't get infos about the module's state."
I did some Googling for info on RTAI compilation options and enabled
"Latency self-calibration" and "One-shot timer mode", but these did
nothing to remove the warning. I checked the /proc directory, and found
no rtai subdirectory within. Has anyone seen any situation like this
before, and if so what did you do to remedy it? Also, are there any
relatively up-to-date guides on how the RTAI testsuite is supposed to be
used to diagnose the capabilities of a real-time-patched system?
