Dear Francescodario,

This thread seems to be dead yet I faced the same issue so I thought of
sharing my information.

Herewith attaching my kernel config & RTAI config file.

My observation:
System specifically hangs when we fiddle around preemption or threading.
1) if you run latency/preemption test it will hang
   Modules loaded at the time (rtai_sched, rtai_hal, rtai_sem, rtai_mq,
rtai_msg,rtai_shm,rtai_fifos, rtai_bits, rtai_mbx)

I tried different combination of modules yet it hangs

2) simply load preemption_rt.ko or kthread.ko module and system will hang
immediately.(in my case at least)

This problem occurs specifically in latest version of RTAI ( I am using
ShabbyX -- i.e. RTAI 5.1 I guess).

Currently by using RTAI 4.1 this issue can be averted ( with NewLib ).

Hope this helps debug the issue.

Sincerely,
Rathin
