Hello, The main things in BIOS that interfere with latency calibration (kernel hangs, freezes, panics, etc) is anything that has to do with power management, power saving, speed stepping, hyperthreading, virtualization, PCI Express ASPM, APM, thermal management such as ACC, C1E, Turbo boost, etc and sometimes memory overclocking profiles. It's best to have as much things disabled that you don't need for a successful boot and stick with factory clocks and fans that run at 100% all the time. I recently came across an HP system that offered to disable the CPU cache, best to leave things like that on. ;) Disabling CSM (Compatibility Support Module) and running a complete UEFI system (had to flash video card with UEFI bios) I didn't notice any changes with RTAI, just had to modify how Linux would be booted (switching from GRUB 2 to Efibootmgr.) I'd assume I was just lucky in that instance and wouldn't use EFI in a production RTOS system. I've made a few Coreboot ports in the past to use those boards for RTAI, results were astonishing!
