Just got on this list. Glad to see there is some action.

In addition to what Aimé said about gcc missing or not in the path the
message also mentioned the missing ncurses library. From what I
understand the ncurses library allows text menuing system to be build
(as is used by the make menuconfig command). The ncurses library may
also be in the dev kit but if it is not for some reason you can find
it on http://www.rpmfind.net/.
