hi,

i'd recommend reinstalling your operating system - if you don't have
gcc, probably something very, very bad has happened and your box is
screwed anyway...

you can use the multiboot howto from
http://www.opentech.at/howtos/multiboot-howto/html/index.html
to get everything running.

good luck.

| Hi Dear All,
|
| Here I am trying to install RTLinux but struck after kernel
configuration.My
| PC operating system is Red Hat9.0,I have installed kernel-2.4.22 for
RTlinux
| rtl3.2-pre3 with required patch.I have downloaded all three parts and
| following below attached .pdf file.
|
| I have started my kernel configuration by using # make config
command,becoz
| I don't have ncurses libs for menuconfig.Even xconfig is not
working.As per
| PDF,I changed only CPU type and disabled APM only. For others I didn't any
| thing except pressed ENTER all time and reached at end.Now here I have
| hesitation. As per PDF,I have to save and exit ffrom this. But for command
| interface,I don't know how to save these configuration.I don't know any
| related command.
|
| Then I just exit from shell by Exit command and reenter in to command
| interface. Then continue to follow PDF.When I have tried to make copy,
|
| [root@localhost linux]# cp /boot/.config config-2.4.22-rtl3.2-pre3
|
| But error:
|
| cp: cannot stat '/boot/.config': No such file or directory.
|
| And this happen I think becoz of I exit from configuration without
saving.is
| it true? please guide me,what exactly happened here?
|
| Although I have tried to go ahead to know next errors if,so I can show you
| together,And as per PDF,
|
| [root@localhost linux]#make dep
|
| error came:
|
| gcc -wall -wstrict -prototypes -o2 -fomit -frame -pointer -o scripts/mvdep
| scripts/mkdep.c
| make : gcc : command not found
| make : * * * [scripts/mkdep] Error 127
|
| Then I have tried only #gcc command but it was not found. So I think
here GCC
| is not enabled/installed during red hat9.0 installation by my admin.
|
| So please guide me what exactly happening here, suggest me what I
should do?
| And please see my attached PDF file and let me know if some required in
| next stages.
|
| Also please let me know "Recompling Xargs" as per my PDF.
|
| Thanking you,
|
| Regds,
|
| Premji.
