Hello, arvid <[email protected]> wrote: > i don't think we will see RTLinux running on VMWare anytime soon... I once had RTLinux 3.1 working on a Debian Woody system inside of VMWare. Unfortunately, I lost that virtual HD, and I cannot reproduce this (see a posting some months before). If the OP finds a solution, feel free to post it here, I would be very interested! > i don't even see the sense in doing so. It's very convenient for debugging: Just take a snapshot immediately before starting the test module. If the machine crashes, just revert to the snapshot before, and continue from there. So, there's no need for a reboot. Furthermore, you can use it while teaching students. This way, you do not need to give them root access on the real machine, only inside the VM. Of course, for doing RT stuff, you need to use the plain hardware. Anyway, it is very covenient sometimes. Regards, Spiro. -- Spiro R.
